Level 2

Krakatit

Prokop, an engineer, wanders around the city in a fever.

He meets his former classmate Jirka Tomesh.  Almost delirious, he tells him about krakatit- an explosive he invented in his laboratory.

Prokop is hallucinating from the fever, almost explaining  what krakatit´s  formula is. Suddenly he wakes up and sees Tomesh bending over him with a notebook in his hand.

Tomesh leaves.

The next day, Prokop opens the door to a young woman with a veil, to whom he promises to  take an envelope  to Tomesh.

He travells to Týnice.

At Jirka´s house, he faints. Jirka´s father, the doctor , examines him .

He has meningitis, pneumonia and blood poisoning from a wound on his arm.

He has memory loss too.  He has been there for 20 days .

He helps the doctor mix the pills and afterwards, starts dating Annie, his daughter.

One day he reads an advertisement in the newspaper .

Carson, a director of the military factory in Balttin is looking for him because of the krakatit.

He returns to his apartment. Carson walks in and wants Prokop to sell krakatit.  They go to Balttin factory.

Carson takes him to the castle, shows him the park and the laboratory, and introduces him to Princess Wille.

Prokop wants to leave but he can´t.

The Princess wants him to let her powder explode. During this explosion they kiss.

He accused the Princess of being with him just to sell krakatit.

She helps him escape from Balttin.

On the way, he meets Daimon, whom he previously saw at the castle.

Daimon belongs to a secret organisation.

With the help of electromagnetic waves they are able to lead krakatit to decay.

Daimon takes him to a meeting where everyone respects Prokop.

There he comes across a woman who reminds him of the one with the veil.

Daimon tells him he can control the explosions. They’re at a broadcasting station where they see a krakatit explosion in the distance.

He shows Prokop the factory where Tomesh is. Prokop goes there with an envelope.

Tomesh refuses to come to the gate.

Prokop warns the lab technician to tell Tomesh not to turn on high frequencies.

He runs away. When he is far enough, he hears  explosions. The whole town is on fire now.

He runs into an old man who showes him the world in his carriage.

He recognises God in this old man, who tells him to invent something to help people.

Prokop finally falls asleep with a dreamless sleep, forgetting about krakatit.
